Headmaster's Message

Thank you everyone for your presence at the College Prize giving last night - Fantastic community feel. Throughout the year we have stressed the one "schoolness" of St Paul's- one gate, one uniform one College Dinner, one community of expectation etc. - One prizegiving! 

Main points from last night: 

1) Starting Time for ALL in correct uniform Year 11 2017 will need a blazer for the first day. Tuesday 31st Tuesday January at 8.30 am College Assembly. Homework set: Period 2.

2) Boys in all Year levels require a digital Chrome Book as part of equipment (see our website under BYOD for details) 

3) All boys in Year 7 & 8 to learn a musical instrument in 2017

4) University Entrance (UE) is the goal for all men at SPL. In 2017 - for the Year 13s especially.

5) We will be strong on learning behaviours which promote academic achievement (e.g. teaching, organisation, engagement, etc) Intolerance of behaviours which do not lead to achievement. (e.g lack of attendance, punctuality, not having correct equipment, disruption, etc. )

6) Enrolment of family - College Dinner Thursday March 9th at 6pm for all family as a start to many "enrolment of the family" functions. 

7) Fathers of boys invited to be more present in the service of their son's school in 2017. 

8) College fees - are expected to be paid by every family within that term. An important duty. More important than the sky subscription or Netflix. 

9) All boys Year 7-13 expected to do 20 hours of service in their own time for their community and recorded as evidence. 

10) All St Paul's parents invited to give 20 hours next year to their son's school in many areas. Let the imagination soar.

11) The fitness of all boys at St Paul's College needs improvement. Expect some extra cross country runs in 2017.

12) Breakfast provided by Senior Student Leadership Team. Pie, fizzy drinks for Breakfast are out. 

13) New PEd uniforms for all PE classes expected  in 2017. 

14) All boys 7-13 expected to play a sport  for their school in 2017. 

15) There is "a place at the table" for every family - a place at the table for St Paul's College in Auckland.

Congratulations to our Head boy - Tevita Uilou and Deputy -Special Character Jacob Smith.

Other prefects will be announced at Inaugural Mass and/or on Champagnat Day June 6th. 

Prefects will be chosen on service and what they have done for their school. 

There is a meeting on Wednesday 25th January at 6.30pm in the College Hall for parents who want their son to participate on Polyfest 2017. Please see note below.

We are looking forward to 2017 - the challenges and opportunities.

Parents that would like their sons to participate in the 2017 ASB Polynesian festival next year in either the Samoan or Tongan group, are invited to attend the registration evening on  
25th January 2017 at 6.30pm in the College Hall

If we do not get the required numbers for each group on that evening for either the
Samoan group (50 minimum), Tongan (30 minimum)
NO groups will be taking part in 2017.

FEES FOR 2017 

All year 7 - 13 students will begin school on Tuesday 31st January at 8.30am.

Students will assemble outside the School Chapel where they will be greeted by their year level deans and teachers who will organise students into year levels before assembly.  

1) All students will be expected to attend school in full school uniform and have the stationery requirements for each of their subjects.

2) All St Paul’s College school uniforms can be purchased from Elizabeth Michael UNIFORMS. 357 New North Road, Kingsland, Ph (09)3581680.

3) A full description of school uniform requirements can be found on our school website.

4) A copy of the school stationery requirements for each year level is also available on the website.

5) In addition to subject stationery all students re required to have a Digital Chromebook with a minimum of 4GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, be wireless and a minimum battery life of 6 hours.
Students in years 12 and 13 must bring their own suitable device including a Chromebook, Laptop or Tablet as as long as they meet the following requirements, be portable, wireless, have a keypad, contain antivirus software and a minimum of 6 hour battery life. 

6) To assist in purchasing your son's device St Paul’s College has partnered with a number of suppliers to provide a discount. To view these offers please view our school website. You must identify yourself as a St Paul’s College parent when purchasing your device.
