Spring fruits and vegetables are now in season

Picture yourself chomping into a fat, sweet strawberry. Good, right? March is the beginning of the season for both strawberries and avocados. Juicy cherries aren’t far behind. Our blog has the latest on spring produce.

What’s in Season Now

Strawberries
Strawberries, the perfect source of vitamin C and your daily dose of antioxidants are back in season. They contain natural fats and are sodium and cholesterol free! This grilled chicken salad with strawberries and feta sounds yummy.
Cauliflower
Cauliflower is known to be anti-inflammatory because it contains nutrients such as indole-3-carbinol. The off-white cauliflower we have grown accustomed to actually come in forms of purple and orange. Check out some recipes.
Broccoli
Whether steamed, roasted or sautéed, broccoli healthy and versatile. California produces 90% of the nation’s broccoli and the average American eats more than 4 pounds every year. It contains high amounts of Vitamin C, Vitamin A and fiber. 
Onions
Onions have been incorporated in the human diet for thousands of years. It is said ancient Egyptians worshiped onions as a symbol of eternal life. They're healthy too, with high amounts of polyphenols and chromium which regulates blood sugar.
Beets
Beets help lower blood pressure, boosts stamina, increases exercise performance and provides detoxification. This spring seems like the perfect time to incorporate this fresh vegetable into your diet.
