Health Literacy: A Critical Link in Patient Engagement

Many U.S. adults have trouble reading and acting on health-related information. Wisconsin Health Literacy is a statewide organization raising awareness of the importance of health literacy and fostering better communication between health care consumers and health care providers.
 
Registration is now open for the 2017 Wisconsin Health Literacy Summit, “Health Literacy: A Critical Link in Patient Engagement.” This event, sponsored by Wisconsin Health Literacy, will be held April 4-5 at Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison. Clinicians, nurses, other health care team members, public health professionals, social workers, and others who believe that better communication means better health are encouraged to attend.
 
Topics will support improving patient engagement and satisfaction, chronic disease management, clinical outcomes, health insurance literacy and better engagement of people in their health and health care.
