Website Launch!

We at FVAF are delighted to announce the launch of our brand new website!

www.fvaf.org.uk

From here you will be able to learn about everything that we have to offer from training and events to the many projects and groups that we are involved with. You will also be able to download forms so that you can post volunteer opportunities or even purchase / renew your FVAF membership. 

We would really appreciate any feedback you have to offer regarding the website and would be very grateful if you could share it with those who may find it of interest.

Booking is on a first come first serve basis.

Office Services

FVAF offer a wide range of office services at excellent rates to those in or involved with the voluntary and community sector. 

Whilst our great quality printing and photocopying is available to everyone, members of FVAF enjoy reduced costs as well as free rental of our wide array of office equipment.

This includes:
- Display Boards
- Hearing Loops
- Hearing Enhancers
- Digital Projector
- PA System
- Flip Charts

You're Welcome Workshops are back!

Barnwood Trust, alongside partners, is launching its latest phase of free, fun and inspiring workshops for people living and working across Gloucestershire. They will run September 2016 - January 2017. 

Workshops Include:
  • Working with people and groups
  • Understanding how people are excluded
  • Conversations that include everyone
  • Asset-Based Community Development and community building practice
  • Growing a strengths based culture
  • Discovering each other's strengths
  • Working with people and groups: deepening your skills
  • Inspiring community spaces
The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service

The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities.

Launch of new Mental Health Advice Website for Young People
 
The Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group’s children and young people’s website has now gone live at
www.onyourmindglos.nhs.uk
 
The website provides information and signposting across a range of topics to help young people who might be struggling with their emotions and difficult situations in their life
 
The website will be promoted through schools in September but  please share widely within your organisations

Forest Voluntary Action Forum

FVAF are looking to welcome a volunteer into our growing team to help with the many office services that we offer to groups within the Forest of Dean.

Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Helping people from a variety of backgrounds to access our services
- Assisting in the advertisement of our services 
- Photocopying
- Printing
- Scanning
- Laminating
Forest of Dean Walking for Health

Forest of Dean Walking for Health are always on the look out for new Walk Leaders to start their own walk or to help out on existing walks. Duties will include planning a walk route of between 30-55 mins, managing the group of walkers and completing some health and safety paperwork. Support, advice and training will be available. You could make a real difference to people's lives by helping them to become more active and meet new people.
 
Aylburton & Lydney Scout Group
 
We are looking for a reliable person with confident IT and literacy skills to maintain and update our website. This role could be completed at home and could be self- managed.
