First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. Small Business Saturday, which began in 2010, is an initiative to get holiday shoppers to shop at their favorite local businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. This year it will be taking place on Saturday, November 26th.
The initiative began in New York City, where the inaugural Small Business Saturday was held. The idea has quickly spread across the United States in support of small, independently owned local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and invigorate neighborhoods across the country.
Local businesses - you can use the new Shop Small Studio to create free custom downloadable marketing materials for your social networks, website, and storefront!
