With Election Day coming up next week, we felt that it was very important to make sure that all of our employees had the opportunity to register to vote. Many of the participants in our Ready, Willing & Working program work multiple jobs and have families, making it difficult for them to find the time to register.
Our team members were given a half day of paid leave to ensure that they were able to get their registration squared away. They were required to bring in proof of their registration in order to receive the half day's pay.
We are proud to say that 100% of our employees are now registered to vote! For 2016 Voter and Election information, click here.

Join East City Bookshop on Tuesday nights (November 1 - 22) for a free class offered by novelist Hannah Sternberg.
During National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), writers around the world challenge themselves to complete a 50,000-word novel during the 30 days of November.
In this free class, participate in several interactive exercises designed to combat writer's block and jumpstart your creativity. Each exercise is self-contained, there is no homework, and you can come for as many classes as you want (they're not sequential). Drop in for a bit of inspiration as you head toward your writing goals - even if you're not participating in NaNoWriMo!
