The Smithsonian Institution supports a few graduate students each year in conducting independent research through a highly-competitive, funded fellowship ($6,000). Hilary says, “the opportunity is also one of great personal interest, as I am committed to producing publicly-accessible scholarship and will be able to do so through the Smithsonian”.
