Australian Federal Election

The next Australian Federal Election will take place on Saturday 2 July 2016. The most convenient way to vote is via post. Register to receive a postal vote on the AEC website before 29 June.

In-person voting services will be provided by the Consulate on weekdays from 20 June – 1 July from 9am - 5pm. If you’re planning to vote in-person at the Consulate, please visit our website for more information before you come down. We strongly recommend voting early, to avoid queues and delays on the final days.

Consulate events

In May the Consulate supported the New York premiere of Cleverman, a critically acclaimed Australian TV series co-produced by ABC and Sundance TV. Set in the near future, Cleverman is an original drama rooted in Aboriginal mythology. It's showing Wednesday evenings on Sundance. View the trailer below.

We also supported the New York launch of Suburban, an exhibition by Brooklyn-based Australian artist Ian Strange. To create Suburban, Strange spent two years travelling through Ohio, Detroit, Alabama, New Jersey, New York and New Hampshire transforming suburban homes into works of art.
