Welcome to the 2016-17 School Year
On behalf of all of us at Erie High School, I would like to thank you for helping make the start of the new school year positive and energetic. Since early August, parents, students, staff and volunteers from the Erie community have demonstrated their pride in EHS by assisting with the distribution of iPads, answering phones in the front office, preparing a welcome back breakfast for teachers, and so much more. We are truly grateful for your support and commitment to Erie High, and it is obvious that our excellence as a school is a reflection of our community as a whole.
This school year is off to a fast start, and our Erie Tigers continue to inspire me. Every day I witness our students demonstrating kindness, character, and citizenship in our classrooms and hallways. Despite our growth, it is clear that EHS retains its traditional warm, small-town feel. We value this as a community and will continue to foster it this year and in the future.
If your family is new to Erie High School, I want to share with you our commitment to taking excellence to the next level in academics, athletics, and the fine and performing arts. Students at EHS have access to some of the finest and most unique programs in the nation, including the College Board's Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma program, the Academy of Engineering and Aerospace, and our newly designed Media & Broadcasting program. Our daily mission is to provide rigorous and engaging learning for our students who come to school with a wide array of backgrounds, interests, and talents.
Next week, we are looking forward to seeing families at Back to School Night (Wednesday, September 7th at 6 p.m. which is also the first late-start Wednesday). In the meantime if you have questions or suggestions, I welcome the opportunity to visit. I am available by phone and email, but I most enjoy your visits to school for a cup of coffee.
Thank you once again for your support of EHS. Have a great weekend and GO TIGERS!
