Friday Newsletter

Welcome Back from the Superintendent's Office

Greetings to all!

We hope you and your families have had a fun, restful and stress-free summer. Portsmouth teachers officially kicked off the school year yesterday and are hard at work planning and  preparing classrooms for students arrival on Monday. For children beginning a new school year brings a mix of excitement and nervousness.  The nerves typically settle after a couple days and kids become engaged in the process of learning. We’re looking forward forward to seeing all of our new and returning students pouring into our classrooms, hallways and playgrounds next week.

Each Friday, we’ll send home information about upcoming events and work to share some of the good news stories taking place across Portsmouth Schools. This week, we’re presenting “start-up” information including calendars, bus routes, the important of breakfast and other useful information.

We are excited to kick off a new year with your children. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions of concerns.

Your Child’s Dental Health- Seacoast Healthy Grins
http://www.familiesfirstseacoast.org/dental_children.html

Seacoast Healthy Grins, the school based dental program, will again be visiting and offering dental services to students in Grades K through 8.  Your child learns the importance of establishing healthy dental habits through classroom education and free dental screenings.  In-school dental services (cleanings, sealants, fluoride and temporary fillings), are offered to children who do not have a dentist.  Watch for the (yellow) form that will come home with your child with other school forms.  Please complete and return the form to school regardless of whether your child has a dentist.  If you have questions, contact “Miss Cindy” at mailto:cbishop@familiesfirstseacoast.org
