Church Service This Morning

Mary Weese of Midway Presbyterian Church will be leading the church service today at 7:30 a.m. Service is estimated to last 30 minutes.

Silent Auction Items

Please bring your state baskets and silent auction items to the hospitality room by noon today. We need volunteers to watch over the baskets this week. Please contact Julie Montagne at 605-310-0791 for more information.

Beef Cook-off at 1:00 p.m.!

Limi Boosters will be hosting their annual cook-off contest today at 1:00 p.m. There will be a judge's pick as well as a people's choice award. The winners will be announced at Thursday's banquet. See the fun and excitement and taste some great food!
Limi Boosters Meeting

Limi Boosters member meeting will be held in the hospitality room today at 4:30 p.m. Bring your own chair!  
Annual Membership Meeting

The annual membership meeting will be held today in the arena at 5:30. We will be covering this weeks events, introduce board candidates and announce presidential candidates. Every state needs to be sure to have all of their members there, because we will be counting for number of votes each state will get for the election this week.

Get Your Banquet Tickets!

Banquet tickets are still available and will be available until 9 a.m. Monday morning. Tickets for those 11 and up are $35; tickets for children age 10 and under are $15.

Let It Begin!

Opening ceremonies is tonight in the show ring. It will begin at 6:30 with a dinner to follow. Juniors need to stay in the arena after the membership meeting so they can be lined up and given state flags for the opening ceremonies. Come watch our juniors represent their state and this wonderful breed of cattle! 

Shows Begin Tomorrow

We will kick off the cattle portion of our show with the steers, bred & owned purebred females, owned Lim-Flex females. The show will begin at 8:00, with judge Scott Bush, South Dakota presiding.

Heifer Raffle

Tickets will be available until Tuesday morning. Please contact a committee member or a "friend of the Cattle Drive" to purchase your ticket. If you would like to help sell tickets, contact Jeff Kaufman at 540-280-5388.

Exhibitors Please Read: Fitting and Paint Rules

The following are the rules for fitting taken directly from the show rules:

To maintain a high degree of confidence in Limousin junior shows, NALJA reserves the right to disqualify any animal for unethical fitting, which shall include the following: 
  • Any use of paints, colored show foam, graphite, colored powders or other substances that may be subject to disqualification. All animals are subject to a "white towel" test from check-in release. NALJA reserves the right to collect hair samples from any animal at any show. 
  • The addition of any hair or hairlike substances, including false tail heads and false polls. (NALJA allows false tail switches.)
  • The cutting, tearing or gluing of the hide or underneath the hide or removal of tissue in an attempt to alter the animal's shape. 
  • The injection of any gas, solid or liquid under the hide to alter the animal's conformation. 
  • Any attempts to disrupt or change the animal's normal dental development. 
  • Any products, such as steroids or growth stimulants, administered internally or externally to alter the animal's conformation. 
  • Any stomach pumping without authorization from a licensed veterinarian.
