Happy August Friends!
Here at NHAEYC we have been so busy planning special events and training opportunities, that August has just “snuck” right up on us!
This week, the NHAEYC Governing Board will convene for our annual retreat. We are excited to announce that we continue to grow and expand our work on behalf of each of you. This time of year marks new beginnings and sadly, some goodbyes. I would like each of you to join me in welcoming our two new Governing Board members, Blossom Dodge and Liz Duclos. You will hear more about these amazing professionals in upcoming editions, but I could not be more thrilled to have new energy invigorating our dynamic team!
I would like to take a moment to recognize Lori Harris, a longstanding part of NHAEYC and responsible for great work on behalf of early childhood professionals here in New Hampshire. After many years of dedicated service, Lori will be leaving the organization and we are grateful for her years of service and support.
So far, we have had a summer with plenty of hot days and sunshine in our beautiful state, but Fall is almost here! My favorite time of year for a few reasons. It marks change and new opportunities, but it is also the beginning of a new Infant and Toddler Training Series! This year’s series features Thom Linehan from UNH Cooperative Extension and he is also our newly appointed VP. For all my infant and toddler friends, please do not miss out on this amazing opportunity to learn more about the social and emotional developmental period for our youngest friends.
Fall will also bring important changes in the future of our nation and of our children. I encourage you to register to vote and get involved. NHAEYC is committed to providing you with the tools you need to address the critical issues in our field such as, equitable compensation, and investment in early childhood and advancement opportunities for the professionals we work on behalf of. Stay tuned for special events coming to NH this Fall as we work to bring to the forefront the importance of early childhood and the professionals that have dedicated their lives to this incredible field! I would also consider following us on Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook to stay up to date on our latest events.
Thank you for everything you do each day! Recently, I had an opportunity to travel with my husband on business and met an inspiring individual along the way. He shared with me this quote that I will share with each of you about life and the balance that it involves:
“Live by the sun, but love by the moon”
As this beautiful summer comes to a close, I wish you balance, love and peace!
