Leadership Day Is Approaching!

We are looking for student speakers for Leadership Day! Leadership Day is March 23rd, about a month away! We are looking for MCs, student speeches, and any other student contributions (short essays, poetry, student panel, etc.) for Leadership Day. If your child would like a speaking part, please encourage them to see Ms. Alexander during the school day! Students should know what their desired contribution will be prior to signing up.  Their speeches/speaking parts do not have to be written, but students should have a plan to present.

We are also holding auditions for our finale song on Thursday. If your child is a songbird, or enjoys rapping, please encourage them to audition!
Leadership Nugget

Quote of the Week
"You can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first!"

In Leadership Meeting, we will branch into Habit 7: Sharpen Your Saw, the habit of balance and taking care of yourself mind, body, heart, and soul!

There's a story of a man that was sawing down a tree and not making much progress. When asked why he didn't stop to sharpen his saw, he replies that he was too busy.

Habit 7 reminds us that we are more productive when we are in balance: mind, body, heart, and soul. If one area is being overworked or overused, the rest will feel the results.

Think of a car and it's four tires, in order to run smoothly, you must take care of all four, or it causes a ripple effect in other parts of the car.

Habits at Home:
Sharpen your saws as a family!

Mind: Puzzles, reading, watching educational tv.
Body: Take a walk together, ride bikes, play a sport as a family, etc.
Heart: Spend time together, make lists of what makes you happy and share them.
Soul: Start a journal, Read inspirational books.
